Friends of Africa is a membership-based organisation, meaning the work we do is carried out on a voluntary basis by young people who want to make a positive impact on society.

Everything we do is to achieve our mission- to work with young people in Ireland and Africa to provide personal and social development opportunities.

So, what is it we do?

  • We operate a summer volunteer programme

  • We fundraise to support the needs of our partners

  • We support those affected by social injustice issues

  • We provide youth work training for our members

  • We educate our members through development education workshops

We want to ensure what we do is done right, and so Friends of Africa is a member of Comhlamh and a signatory of the Dochas Code of Conduct.
